Safety & safeguarding
Wisdom should never cost you your voice.
For CHOOSE WELL, safety is part of wise relationship education: protecting dignity, respecting personal agency and being clear about the limits of its role.
Our commitment
Safety belongs inside the teaching.
It shapes how CHOOSE WELL discusses discernment, boundaries, commitment and the responsibility to recognise unhealthy patterns.
- 01
Your freedom matters
No one should be pressured into a relationship, commitment or disclosure. Mutual willingness remains essential.
- 02
Safety comes first
Abuse, coercion and isolation are not ordinary relationship conflict.
- 03
Faith must not become pressure
Spiritual language, prophecy or church activity must never be used to control another person’s choices.
Agency and healthy boundaries
Careful conversations. No shame. No pressure.
CHOOSE WELL addresses subjects that may connect with personal experience. The aim is practical clarity without taking decisions away from the individual.
- 01
Boundaries and consent
Respect for another person’s convictions, body, pace and right to say no.
- 02
Control and coercion
Jealousy, isolation, sexual pressure and violence are warning signs—not evidence of love.
- 03
Character and conduct
Observable patterns and private behaviour matter more than charisma or religious vocabulary.
- 04
Conflict and repair
Abuse is not normal disagreement, and genuine apology must be followed by changed behaviour.
- 05
Dignity and history
Past sin or victimisation never removes a person’s God-given worth.
Clear limits
Education can guide reflection. It cannot provide every kind of help.
CHOOSE WELL does not replace
- Therapy or counselling
- Medical care
- Legal advice
- Emergency or crisis support
- Appropriate specialist help
CHOOSE WELL does not offer
- Matchmaking
- Prophetic spouse identification
- Guaranteed marriage
- Pressure toward a relationship
Forgiveness does not require continued exposure to abuse. Reconciliation requires safety, truth, responsibility and demonstrable change.
When more help is needed
Some situations need more than education.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services for your location.
Abuse, serious mental-health concerns, medical emergencies and legal matters require appropriate qualified, emergency or specialist support. Prayer and pastoral care must never obstruct safeguarding, healthcare, law enforcement or professional treatment.
Responsible participation
Trust depends on saying exactly what applies.
